FLY TIERS IN OUR HOSTELHere is a report from one of them:
This time we met in Górki Wielkie. On the recommendation of my university friend Andrzej Burkot we gathered at the Kossaks' for our annual “tiers' weekend”. In short, it was great. The beautiful place, unforgettable atmosphere and warm hospitality of the staff enabled us to thoroughly enjoy the meet with our friends. In the kitchen Basia and her daughter Arleta reigned supreme, and made sure that we did not become weak while labouring at tying artificial flies. In the dining room, having laid out our tools and materials, we tied and twisted.
Our hosts examined our treasures with fascination – feathers, hairs, wools, glitters. In a layperson our passion arouses surprise – after all, grown up blokes playing with feathers is not a common sight. It is not twisting or tying artificial flies which is our basic passion. It is only a means to an end. For us fly fishing is the thing. This was the reason underlying the meet. The meet was successful beyond measure, to a large extent thanks to the wonderful place and our hosts. We will be back!
